Critic's Corner

One of my customers recently saw José and dubbed him the food critic as she had read my comments about him liking the Oma's Pride mackerel so much.  That gave me the idea for this page and José agreed to accept the role and was actually very proud to be part of helping with the business AND (most importantly) helping other pets be healthy and happy.

Besides, what could be better than trying all of these different foods that dad decides to bring home?

Be sure to check out the guest critics too:

Sadly, my favorite food critic passed on May 29th.  My best buddy Jose can be credited for helping me get this business off and running.  The diet served him well too, he was not in good shape when he came to me at 8 years old after having been relinquished by a family who had him for 4 years.  He gained 18 pounds, was in good spirits. I got to enjoy nearly 3 years with him enjoying life and me enjoying his company.  I am eternally grateful for the time we spent together.

    Venison

I know that a lot of this moves, dad's always ordering it.  But you are sure welcome to my share.  I ate everything in my bowl but that.  I just couldn't get in to it.  Tell you what, I'll trade you my venison for your mackerel (YUM!)..

Performance Dog:

Okay, gang, this is some good stuff!!  It has some tripe, trachea, beef and bone.  Because it has some tripe, I don't have to listen to dad complain about the smell as much and it's really, really good!  Every now and then, if I'm not feeling well (or just act like it) dad will give me a whole meal of this stuff.  I really feel better when I eat it (which is why I act a little under the weather every now and then, to get more).  But I have to be careful with that, I don't want to get caught in my game there.  Besides mackerel, it doesn't get much better.

  Whole Rabbit

I have listened to people telling Dad how their dogs just love these whole rabbits.  So I was quite anxious to try it myself.  Well, he finally gave me the chance.  You know, I don't know if it was the look, the smell or what.  But I couldn't even bring myself to try it.

When I left it the first night, Dad seemed to think that I didn't like the size of it so he cut it up in to smaller pieces.  That didn't change a thing about it as far as I was concerned.  So for those of you who love it, you can have my share!

Grandad's Pet Foods:

Well, I have to say dad hasn't let me try all of these products yet but the ones that he has, I've really liked.  My favorite so far is the chicken and vegetable blend.  I'm anxious to make it through the rest of them and I'll be sure to report my findings. And, I'll get on dad about letting me try the rest.  After all, it's my job!

Mackerel

Mackerel

I've got to tell you, I've eaten very well since I've been here.  And I've had many different items (dad is really in to the variety of this diet, and I'm not complaining a bit).  But these guys, I don't know where they've been all of my life, but am I ever glad they found their way to me.  This is my all time favorite (so far that is).  I just can't imagine it getting any better than this.  Okay, the best part, is waiting until dad (who doesn't like fish by the way) looks over at me so I can bite in to the head while he's watching.  If only I had a picture of that face!  These babies are the WHOLE fish, every last bit of it!

Green Tripe:

I'm sure you are beginning to think I like everything which really isn't the case.  But dad asked me to start with the things I like first and then we'll talk about the things that I don't like.  This stuff is really good, and I always know when dad is getting ready to put it in my dish.  I'm not sure whether the smell reaches me first or if it's dad's complaining about the smell that hits me first, but I'm happy when I get it.  It's really good for me too!!

Keep coming back for my latest reviews.  I'll keep you posted on what I like and of course, the things I don't. But remember, I'm like any other critic, these are my tastes and they may not correspond to your pet's tastes.  We're much like you and each have our likes and dislikes.  It's quite an adventure learning what those are though.  Bon Appetit - to your pets!
